Cape Town is proving to be a worthy breeding ground for some of the finest JDM performance streetcars in the country. Today we had to search no further than Warrens B16A 1600cc Dohc Vtec to shed some light on the subject of what JDM has to offer. Warren AKA Skippy defiantly has an eye for what looks sounds and feels good and has put it all together to form an immaculate package.
The motor is the factory fitted B16A 1600cc Dohc Vtec controlled by Honda software sporting a Perfect Power SMT6 piggy back chip to ensure a smooth power delivery while MSD ignition plug leads feed the spark to the cylinders. The airflow restriction of the motor is relieved by a Simota twister induction “whales penis” and an import Buddyclub 63mm exhaust which also allows the animal to speak when spoken to.
The bodywork of the car was treated to a full re spray, imperial red was chosen to compliment the aftermarket bits that Skippy had in mind. Old spec bumpers front and rear were flushed and had Alfa 156 fog lights moulded into the front bumper. A polyurethane lip completes the look in the front by bringing the nose closer to the ground. To complete the rear, a Type R rear apron was fitted to provide a complete home to house the buddyclub Jap spec silencer. To inure the overall look was complete a type R rear roof wing was fitted to the hatch.
The interior also sports some nice goodies like a Momo tornado steering wheel, Momo floor mats, Carbon fibre racing pedals, Skunk 2 gear knob, Auto gauge oil pressure and water temperature gauges, Bride bucket front seats, Custom rear bride seats and Buddyclub shoulder pads.
The power delivery is put down through 16inch Rota Sprintharts wrapped in Falken 205/40 tires kept in place by Blox racing extended lug nuts.
Skippy would like to thank to following people for all their help to get the car where it is today.
